Mobile charging station for charging electric vehicles or for balancing the grid

Electromobility in Germany is steadily gaining in importance. One challenge is the expansion of the infrastructure. Especially in rural regions, there are few charging stations for electric vehicles. This is an enormous obstacle to the purchase of an electric car. Another problem in this context is the fluctuating power feed-in from consumers and generators. In rural regions, many wind energy and solar plants are already installed, which can make the power grid unstable.

One approach to the lack of charging infrastructure is mobile charging stations. Here, these stations are located at different places as needed. No expansion is required for the grid connection. The autonomous vehicle can offer electricity for electric cars via its own and other batteries. In addition, the storage system of the bus can also absorb electricity from the grid during high generation. The use case can be combined well with other use cases. Thus, it can be used elsewhere during downtime.
