Mobile packing station

Due to the limited mobility in rural areas with a lack of connections to larger train stations and insufficient public transport, almost all errands are done by car. This often involves traveling long distances to reach consumer markets such as organic food stores, supermarkets or hardware stores, as these are rarely available in the immediate vicinity. Shopping facilities, which are also located in rural areas, usually have limited opening hours. Especially for full-time working people, this results in the problem of stores being closed at the beginning or end of the workday. Delivery options offer a valuable alternative here - even for people who are generally less mobile due to their age or physical limitations. However, these options are rarely available in rural areas.

One possible solution to the problem described above is a mobile packing station. For this purpose, a vehicle is converted accordingly: The freight is placed in a separate compartment for each customer. Some of the integrated compartments also have a cooling or freezing function, so that foodstuffs or medicines can also be transported without losing quality or being damaged during transport. Depending on the specific application, the compartments are filled by regional partners. They receive all the necessary information via an app, such as the arrival time of the vehicle, the available compartments and other assistance. After filling, the goods are ready for purchase. The vehicle or mobile Packstation communicates with the recipient about the current location of the goods and the expected delivery time.
